The Newer Generation's Views on Race

I'd say that color-mute is a good thing. It appears that not everyone agrees. Check out this piece on my (apperently i am the Millienia Generation) generation's views on race. And i can understand the argument made by people who can see this as a problem, but i disagree with it.

I think that being "color-mute" is good - the more you point out differences, the more people are going to notice them.
I thought the article was interesting because it points out that there are still disparities between how people of different races are treated, but if you notice, all the examples the writer and researchers high-light are institutions of the older generation that talked about race. Police and Schools are now being run by people who lived through the civil rights debaucle, and guess what? They're the ones making the policies and carrying out the programs that are causing those issues. I think that as our generation ages and we get into positions to affect change, we'll see a decrease in those sorts of behaviors.
As far as the socio-economic factors, those are still indications of an older generation with different circumstances. As we see more opportunities people from low-income families, I think the "racial" aspect of social standing is going to go by the way side and we'll see social divisions based on education. (The way education is going, College will be the new high school, so just about everyone will have a college degree).
